Endodontics

Our skilled team uses advanced techniques, including rotary files and gutta percha (a soft pliable root canal filling material), to perform precise and efficient root canal therapy. Rotary files are cutting edge instruments that allow us to clean and shape the root canals with greater accuracy and effectiveness, ensuring thorough removal of infected tissue and debris.

Following cleaning and shaping we use gutta percha, a biocompatible material to fill and seal the root canals. This step is crucial in preventing reinfection and restoring the tooth’s structural integrity. Our meticulous approach to root canal treatment improves long-term success for your endodontically treated tooth.

Whether you are experiencing tooth pain, have been diagnosed with a dental infection or if your tooth requires a root canal for restoration, you can trust our team to provide compassionate care and expert treatment. We understand the importance of preserving your natural teeth, and our endodontic services are designed to help you maintain a healthy and functional smile for years to come.

FAQ’s Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic therapy, is a dental procedure used to treat infections or damage within the pulp of the tooth. It involves removing the infected or damaged tissue, cleaning and shaping the root canals, and sealing them to prevent further infection.  There are also times a root canal is necessary to restore a tooth to function when there is insufficient tooth structure to support a crown.

Common symptoms that may indicate the need for root canal treatment include severe tooth pain, sensitivity to hot or cold, swelling or tenderness in the gums, and a persistent pimple on the gums. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is essential to consult your dentist.

Root canal treatment is not typically painful. Local anesthesia is used to numb the affected tooth and surrounding area, ensuring that you remain comfortable throughout the procedure. In fact, root canal treatment is often performed to relieve pain caused by dental infections.

In some cases, antibiotics may be prescribed after root canal treatment, especially if there is evidence of a significant infection or if the infection has spread beyond the tooth.

Recovery from root canal is typically quick and relatively painless. You may experience some mild discomfort or sensitivity in the days following the procedure, but this can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain medication. Most patients can resume normal activities immediately following treatment.

If you experience persistent pain, swelling, or any other unusual symptoms after root canal treatment, it is essential to contact us immediately. These symptoms may indicate a complication or unresolved infection that requires further evaluation and treatment.
